about
Born, living, working and creating in TiohtiĂ :ke/Mooniyang/MontrĂ©al, Liam Gover (he/him) is an artist, movement researcher, choreographer, cultural worker and experiencer of contexts. His work and research explore the relational, ephemeral, experimental and phenomenological ways of being in relation to bodies, objects and the self within a somatic framework. He is also interested in expanded choreographic ways of doing with a focus on de-centring formality and roles in collaborative processes. Currently, he is busy with researching dramaturgical methodologies within the landscape of his creative process, promoting a horizontal model of deep listening and collaboration. He is a graduate of the Department of Contemporary Dance at Concordia University and holds a degree in Intermedia. In the spring of 2025 Liam was the recipient of the James Saya Award / Research Grant. He has performed, presented work, attended workshops and professional development events in and around Montreal, including at Studio 303, LeParc Milieu and Concordia. He also sometimes engages in a facilitation practice where he can be in dialogue, propose ideas and share his perspective of movement and practice with others.Â
